Major League Baseball Team – The Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox are one of the most well known baseball teams in Major League Baseball and have a rich history that dates all the way back to the start of the twentieth century.  They currently play in the East Division in the MLB and are one of the better teams in the league.  They play all of their home games in one of the most well-known stadiums in America, Fenway Park.  Fenway Park is one of the very oldest baseball stadiums in the nation.  The Boston Red Sox have won the World Series a total of six times and are planning on adding to that number in the near future.

As far as team history goes, the team was formed in 1901 as the Boston Americans.  They went on to win their first of multiple World Series in 1903 (while still known as the Boston Americans) but later changed the franchise name to the Boston Red Sox in 1907.  The team’s official first home field was the Huntington Avenue Baseball Grounds which they used up until April 20, 1912 when

Delivering in the Clutch in the Major Leagues

Delivering in the Clutch in the Major Leagues

They exist in every sport-players who can deliver when it counts the most and when the pressure is on. After a while the feats of such players take on a life of their own-a mythology starts to surround them. In baseball, their final inning home runs soar out of stadiums like guided missiles, their fielding plays start to include jumps and stretches that would rate “10′s” from Olympic diving judges, and their willingness to take one for the team makes you think they deserve the Congressional Medal of Honor. So who are those few ball players who rise to the occasion when that occasion demands something big, stunning, and final?

Part fact and part fiction, clutch players aren’t judged so much by how many game-winning plays they make but by the circumstances under which they make them. Reggie Jackson built a career on heroics that annually occurred during the tenth month of the year, earning him the appellation “Mr. October.”

Gardner’s Debut – Yankees Defeat the Red Sox

After his recent debut in the Major Leagues – the 24-year old Brett Gardner managed an extraordinary victory in the tenth inning over the Boston Red Sox. Even his teammates went out to the field to congratulate him in front of 54,922 fans.

“It is marvelous. Something that I will remember for the rest of my life”, said Gardner after the Yankees victory of 5-4 before Boston. “Finally it is an incredible experience”.

Alex Rodriguez batted his 536th home run drawing with the Yankee Mickey Mantle, Hall of fame member. The Dominican Robinson Canó batted a triple of two runs in the seventh inning before the Puerto Rican Javier Lopez, to draw the game 4-4.

On the other hand; Cano batted a simple before Jonathan Papelbon (3-3) to open the tenth inning, remaining with a record of 23-9 and now with a new average of .252. The Dominican batter Wilson Betemit was punched

Mlb 2008: Red Sox Seek Another Championship

The beginning of the regular baseball season will take off in Japan; but already there have been players who have withdrawn for example; Josh Beckett who did not travel with his teammates and Curt Schilling who is inactive until July due to a shoulder injury.

The Boston Red Sox first actions have not been very dazzling but this does not mean the team does not have what is required to win a consecutive World Series title; an achievement no team has reached except for the New York Yankees back in 1998-2000.

There is no doubt Boston will face though competition from five or six very powerful teams in the American League.

Detroit went through lots of trouble to acquire the Venezuelan Miguel Cabrera who was exchanged for the Florida Marlins pitcher Dontrelle Willis. On the other hand, Seattle included Erick Bedard while the Los Angeles Angels hired gardener Torii Hunter. And let’s not forget that Cleveland and the

Yanks And Red Sox Renew Their Rivalry In Ny On Dish Network

Baseball fans all around the country are looking forward to this weekend’s 4 game series in the Bronx between New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. That is because it’s one of the biggest rivalries in all of professional sports, and the saga continues starting tonight. The games can all be seen on Dish Network’s NESN for those in the Boston area, available in HD, for all the other baseball fans who won’t want to miss this exciting series.

The Yankees are currently enjoying a 2 1/2 game lead over the Red Sox in the powerful American League East Division with the Tampa Bay Rays only 3 games behind the Sox. The Yanks just picked up 2 games this week as they took both games from the Blue Jays in Toronto while the Red Sox dropped their 2 games to the Rays in Tampa where they have only won 2 of their last fifteen games, including the playoffs.

This caused the already tight East Division race to become a bit tighter.  While Yankee fans and players alike

Inside view of sports wagering

Inside view of sports wagering

A lot of people like to play up sports wagering as a field ruled by experts, where
it’s impossible to beat the people who know what they’re doing. The truth of the matter is
that all the tools you need to get a leg up on the competition are right at your fingertips.
Think of making sports wagers as studying for a test: bettors who wager on “instinct” or
“feel” are going into the test cold, when a little studying can go a long way.
The Inside Advantage is available to anyone looking in the right places. It doesn’t
require any crystal balls or voodoo. Here are some of the types of things that most people
wouldn’t think to read up on befo re they wager, but can make a big difference:
Injury reports – We all knew about it when Terrell Owens got hurt in 2004, but
how many people know about it when a defensive linebacker leaves the game with a
strained muscle? Browse at least one newspaper for injury reports, and you’ll

Red Sox Defeat the Yankees – Again!

Wednesday night marked a new low for the New York Yankees in their century-long rivalry with the Boston Red Sox. The game was their seventh straight loss against the Red Sox, the Yankees’ longest losing streak against Boston since 1912, when the Yankees were still known as the Highlanders.

The Red Sox won the game 6-5.

The Red Sox have been able to claim the American League East for four years, since 2004, and now it looks as if they’re going to have it for a fifth. The Yankees may have begun the season with big hopes for a division title and plenty of confidence against their longtime rivals, but their repeated losses against Boston seem to have squelched both entirely.

“They’ve definitely got the upper hand on us now,” Yankees outfielder Johnny Damon confessed after Wednesday night’s loss.

Definitely.

The Yankees bullpen has been absolutely overwhelmed, with starter Chien-Ming Wang the primary culprit. Wang, who

It is getting world wide press from celebrities, athletes, talk show hosts and an array of media channels. On Oprah’s website you will see that Dr. Nicholas Perricone has the acai berry listed as the worlds top super food.

Dr. Perricone says “studies have shown that this little berry is one of the most nutritious and powerful foods in the world!”

He also says, “our cells use oxygen to produce energy and they generate free radicals as a by product of this and many other metabolic functions like circulation and digestion. Babe Ruth Baseball Cards, Still A Good Investment?

The legend of Babe Ruth is still just as much alive today than it was during his reign of baseball in the early 1900′s. There isn’t a baseball fanatic, or baseball cards collector in the world that would not want to get their hands on an official Babe Ruth baseball card, and he continues to have die-hard fans that weren’t even thought of being born when he was hitting home runs.

Babe Ruth, born in Baltimore Maryland was actually named George Herman Ruth Jr., but became known by many names including The Great Bambino, The Home Run King, and The Sultan of Swat. His record speaks for itself with 714 home runs which remained unbeatable by baseball players to follow for an astounding 39 years. He was born to Kate Schamberger-Ruth and George Herman Ruth, Sr., but did not live out his entire childhood with them. They worked long hours, and when Babe Ruth was seven years old his father took him to St. Mary’s Industrial School for Boys and gave them custody of
