Cleveland Indians – Baseball Players With Curses To Give

Baseball is full of curses and hexes that said to be the cause of the many failures of the team to win the World Series. Each team subjected to this curses will have years of drought. It is not like they end up being the worst team of the year but even if they give their best, they always lose. The non-believers of these curses may not take this as a logical explanation for not winning. However, the losses of the best teams seemed to be a puzzle to everyone.

The players, a prominent figure or a spectator may cause the curses of baseball. It is not like the olden days that they chant spells or perform rituals to summon evil power to cause bad things to happen. Gone are the days of cauldrons and witches. These supernatural hindrances to win a National League or American League or even a World Series were heavily caused by a bitter exchange of words or plainly an act of letting go.

Several people were associated to the mishaps occurring in

The Rain Maker Sports: Sports Bytes – June 3, 2010

How good was Ken Griffey, Jr.? “The Kid” hit 630 homers and is virtually guaranteed a spot in the Hall of Fame; yet when people talk about him the first thing they say is, “Imagine how good he would have been if he didn’t have all those injuries” . . .

Last night the Yankees again pounded the American League punching bags, the Baltimore Orioles. Robinson Cano stretched his hitting streak to 16 games while Phil Hughes won his seventh game . . .

Detroit Tigers hurler Armando Gallaraga lost his bid for a perfect-game with two outs in the ninth inning because of an admitted blown call by first base umpire Jim Joyce. It was a tough break for Gallaraga, but Joyce deserves credit for owning up to the mistake and even visiting the Tigers locker room after the game to apologize. That takes character . . .

The Diamondbacks lost their 10th consecutive game yesterday. Their latest display of futility was a 14-inning,1-0 decision to the Dodgers .

From Brazil to Sanibel, Beach Frolicking Same in Spring

From Brazil to Sanibel, Beach Frolicking Same in Spring

Thinking back on my travels, I have fond memories of spring like temperatures as winter in Rio de Janeiro transitioned into spring. I was living in this hub of samba and soccer and though the seasonal changes were nothing like we know them in the northeast USA, the transition of seasons in Brazil was subtle yet noticeable.

The Cariocans (Rio natives) would begin to shed their jackets and go sleeveless in the streets.

And life on the beach began anew.

One sure fire sign of spring in Brazil were the acrobatic feats observed on the shores in Rio as well as small coastal towns all over the country. The agility of the participants was awesome.

Though I have never observed the rites of spring in quite the same way on the Island of Sanibel, I have watched the dolphins perform similar acrobatics as the Gulf waters warmed under a stronger sun.

Observance of the passage of time in the tropics is a studied art. No

Traveling Around Boston Can Be Tricky for a First Timer

Having never been to Boston Massachusetts (MA), it seemed like a great time to venture into the unknown for the first time. A world traveler I am not, but a North American traveler I am. I have personally visited major cities across the USA and Canada over the years on both business and pleasure trips but one city I never had an opportunity to enjoy was Boston. The Boston Red Sox and Fenway park became my excuse to spend a weekend in the Boston area. Today’s best bet for hotel reservations are the do-it-yourself websites, of course. Select your arrival and departure dates and simply browse through the available choices. It’s then as easy as bringing out the old credit card and reserving a room.

Hotels in the area of Fenway Park were high priced which leads a value traveler to look outside the general area of the field and simply commute to the game. Would we drive to the game and find parking, take a taxi, or ride the subway? The choice was ours but the

Pro athletes benefit from chiropractic care

Many American Pro athletes look at getting a Chiropractor’s help in coping with the rigorous physical demands of their various sports. Professional golfers have access to Chiropractors during their tournaments, and many Pro football players are known to take Chiropractic assistance after strenuous games. Baseball teams have also started giving their players the much needed Chiropractic help.

In the previous year, baseball teams like the Boston Red Sox (World champions) and the Philadelphia Phillies have employed the services of Chiropractors to help their players perform well and remain in top notch condition. Clubs in the major league have to play 162 games as part of the schedule, and this includes a fair amount of travelling as well. Typical baseball seasons begin in late Feb and go on till early Oct. Teams looking at Playoffs or the World series have to push till late Oct.

The players of the Boston Red Sox can be seen with their Chiropractor,

Dish Network presents the World Series

In case you have been hiding under a rock, game 1 of the  World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees on Fox. It will be the first World Series game played at the new billion-dollar Yankee stadium that just opened this year. During the regular season the Phillies came out victorious in 2 out of the 3 games against the Yankees, but that was in May and the Yankees are a completely different team now.

As the Yankees look to regain their supremacy as MLB top team, the reigning World Series champion Phillies are looking to win two titles in a row and give MLB highest paid team another reason to dream for next year. Both teams have won a World Series championship this decade and are looking to tie the Boston Red Sox as the only two teams with 2 championships in the decade.

Most sports analyst are saying the Yankees will prevail in 6 games, but they seem to forget that the Phillies lineup may not be as deep as the

Kaufman Stadium Tickets – Baseball And Music Royalty

For sports fans, April means one thing: baseball season has arrived.  In Kansas City, the Royals are a hot ticket item despite their recent struggles.  Kansas City went 65-97 and finished in last place in the American League Central division last season.  However, the season was not for nothing, as some young players emerged as potential major contributors going forward, and baseball in Kansas City looks to be on the rise for the first time in a long while.

Last season the story surrounding the Royals focused on hurler Zack Greinke.  Greinke was a high draft pick that had seemingly gone awry, as he had some emotional troubles that looked to derail his baseball career.  Greinke fought hard, though, and eventually exorcised his demons.  Last season he finally realized his vast potential and won the American League Cy Young Award.  The then-25-year-old went 16-8 with a 2.16 ERA and 242 strikeouts in 229 innings.  All of a sudden the Royals have one of the
